As part of our SME Climate Commitment, we are now providing corporate customers with a carbon receipt for the production of their event, exhibition, activation or retail displays.
Starting from today, a carbon receipt will now be issued to every corporate customer at the end of a project, allowing the project manager or event producer to understand the carbon impact created during fabrication and installation. We hope this information will be used by our clients to design greener events, engaging with us from the very start of a project to make that happen.
Aligned to the isla TRACE platform
Our receipt has been developed to align with TRACE – a platform launched by isla (the event industry sustainability initiative) to help experiential agencies track the overall impact of an event from start to finish. Using the receipt, our customers will now have all the production data they need to enter into the platform.
What the receipt includes?
The receipt is a simple and easy to understand bill which summarises the carbon created from an event. We use national and international emissions factors and guidelines to calculate the direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions across 4 main areas:
Materials – used during fabrication and what happens to them after the event.
Build – the impact created from our workshop to fabricate the stand or installation.
Delivery and Transportation – the movement of goods and people for the project.
Installation – hotel stays and catering to support the team.
What we are doing to reduce your carbon bill
To help keep the bill as low as possible, we have been working hard to measure, report and reduce our emissions as a company.
Our workshop is powered by 100% renewable energy and green gas provided by Ecotricity, we use local suppliers and sustainably sourced materials whenever possible, and any waste not reused is sent to the most advanced recycling centre in the region.
Offsetting emissions
Reducing and avoiding emissions from the start of a project should always be the main priority and is something the event industry will be able to do more of with the information from our carbon receipts and the TRACE platform.
Offsetting emissions that are produced is also important, and now our clients can choose to do that themselves or directly with us through the purchasing of carbon credits from Gold Standard that invest in initiatives which reduce carbon in the atmosphere.
